Day 01: Arrival Yangon

Arrive at the airport, greeted by our guide and transfer to hotel.

In the afternoon, visit the Sule Pagoda, colonial downtown, the harbor, The Strand, and one of the colorful local markets. The reclining Buddha will be visited just before taking a tasteful lunch of typical dishes from tribes from all over the country like Kachin, Shan, and Rakhine. A local market will lead you to a small station where you will take the famous circular train that will bring you right behind Bogyoke Aung San market before heading back to your hotel. Overnight in Yangon.

Day 02: Yangon – Bago – Golden Rock (B, – , – )

After breakfast, drive to Kyaikhtiyo and on the way, stop by Bago for sightseeing. Visit Kyat Khet Wine Monastery, where a thousand monks take their last meal of the day at 10am in total silence Kanbawza Thardi Palace built by King Bayinnaung. Then continue to Kyaikthiyo (Golden Rock), one of Myanmar’s landmark – famous for its position and religious importance. Kyaikhtiyo the “Golden Rock” a huge boulder completely covered by gold leaf and delicately balanced on the edge of a cliff. To reach the pagoda from Kin Pun, a steep 11km road leads to the upper staging point by an open trunk. Take a light trekking on the summit through bamboo forest. Enjoy the sunset on the hill top.  Overnight in Kyaikhtiyo.

Day 03: Golden Rock – Yangon (B,- , – )

Breakfast at your hotel then take a half hour walk to small cave and stop at the roadside shops for rare product of jungle. Midmorning, drive down to the base camp and return to Yangon. Along the way visit most important sights of this old capital of the Mon People. Bago sightseeing includes Shwemawdaw Pagoda and Shwethalyaung Pagoda (the world’s most beautiful reclining Buddha). Visit Handicraft Centre, Hinthargone Pagoda and Kanbawza Thardi Palace.  Overnight in Yangon.

Day 04Yangon – Mandalay – Sagaing – Ava- Amarapura – Mandalay ( B, – ,- )

Transfer to airport for boarding a  flight to Mandalay.  Visit to Amarapura, Mahagandayon Monastery of Buddhist studies, U Bein teakwood footbridge across Taungthaman Lake. The sightseeing in Mandalay includes Mahamuni Image, Handicrafts including tapestry making home cottage, marble carving workshop, gold-leaf beating workshop, silk weaving home cottage.  Kyauktawgyi Pagoda with Buddha image carved from a single marble block. Shwenandaw Monastery (Golden Palace) with exquisite wood carvings. Kuthodaw Pagodastone tablets of Buddhist scriptures. Sulamani Pagoda. The royal Mandalay Palace. Enjoy sunset and panoramic views from Mandalay Hill. Overnight in Mandalay.

Day 05: Mandalay – Mingun- Mandalay

Board the Road To Mandalay berthed on the Ayeyarwady River opposite the Sagaing Hills studded with numerous white pagodas. The ship sets sail on its voyage to northern Myanmar through the unique gorges that characterize this stretch of the river. At Mingun you visit the world’s largest brick-built pagoda and

uncracked bell. Return to Mandalay by boat, enjoying lunch on board. Then, visit Mahamuni Pagoda. This pagoda is home to one of the country’s most revered Buddha images, covered with gold leaf. Mandalay is well known for its skilled craftsmen and you will tour traditional workshops to observe the production of wood carvings, kalaga tapestries, and gold-leaf using centuries old techniques.

Day 06: Mandalay – Bagan (B,- ,- )

In the early morning you embark on a traditional boat to the pagodas of Bagan. As we cruise, we can enjoy the wonderful view of the landscape, glittering pagodas and wooden stilt villages. Arrive in Bagan in the afternoon. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 07: Bagan (B,- -, )

The full day sightseeing in Bagan including the famous temples & pagodas such as Pahtothamya, Mahabodhi Paya, Ngakywenadaung Paya, Dhammayangyi Pahto, Thatbyinnyu Temple, Dhamma Yangyi Temple, Schwegugyi Temple, Gawdaw Pallin Temple etc. Watch the sunset among the temples & pagodas before returning to hotel. Overnight in Bagan.

Day 08: Bagan Community Tour (B,L,- )

After breakfast you drive to the near Ngat Pyit Taung monastery and visit the temple caves. Continue to the Monastic Elementary School and see kids playing, learning and talk to them with the help of your guide. Bring some gifts for them (school books you can buy in Nyaung U or somewhere in Myanmar). For lunch you come to a local restaurant, before driving to Nyaung U and nearby villages. See how people live there and how to make Poneyay or plum marmalade. Further you go to some local handicraft shops of lacquerware and see how to build a traditional ox cart.

Overnight stay in Bagan.

Day 09: Bagan – Mount Popa – Kalaw (B, -, – )

After early breakfast at the hotel, proceed by car to Kalaw. On the way, visit Mt. Popa on the way, which is regarded as the abode of “Nat” (spirits) culture in Myanmar. Mt. Popa is an extinct volcano with spectacular views over the plains of Bagan region. You will have to climb up 777 steps to the shrine at the top of the peak to see the panoramic view (requires very good physical condition). Continue your journey to Kalaw through the plains and later up in to mountains. Overnight in Kalaw.

Day 10: Kalaw – Pindaya – Inle Lake (B, -, – )

In the morning you explore Kalaw and drive afterwards to Pindaya which is located at a small lake up in the mountain. Limestone caves contain thousands of Buddha statues. Continue to a workshop for handicrafts und see how umbrellas of the Shan are traditionally produced. Later you drive to the legendary Inle Lake.

Overnight stay at Inle Lake.

Day 11: Inle Lake (B, – ,- )

Full day sightseeing by boat on Inle lake includes Phaung Daw Oo Pagoda, Nge Phe Chaungmonastery, market, Nan Pan village, fishermen villages, floating gardens, art gallery. We will also take a trip up the foliage choked canal to Inthein, where ancient crumbling stupas lead to a covered stairway up to the Shwe Inn Thein Paya. Overnight in Inle Lake.

Day 12: Inle Lake – Kekku – Inle

Today you drive from Inle Lake to Kekku, 46 km from Taunggyi. More than 2.000 stupas are built here on an area of 1 square kilometre, surrounded by trees and beautiful nature. This area is home of Pa Oh people.  A Pa Oh guide will accompany you and tells you everything about their culture, life, traditions and clothing. In the afternoon you will drive back to Inle and transfer  to the hotel

Day 13: Inle Lake/Heho – Yangon (B, -, – )

This morning transfer to the Airport for your flight to Yangon. Upon arrival your guide and driver will greet you and transfer to your hotel for check in. After freshening up, you will transfer to Yangon Railway station to embark upon a circular train journey to the outskirts of town (20-30 minutes ride) to observe the lively and colorful life of the rural Burmese people. Disembark to visit Kyi Myin Daing market and enjoy exploring the market and meeting the friendly locals before returning by road to Yangon. Finally you will get the Historical Market called Scott Market, where you can see the life of people and local products like Woven Materials, Wood and Stone carvings, Jewellery and Gems. As well as Imported goods. A visit to Scott Market could give the guests for shopping opportunity as well. After visiting the Scott Market, we will continue to China Town where people are in different life style and a chance to visit a historical Chinese Temple on the Strand Road which was the first temple founded in Myanmar. Return to your hotel.
